Books are such an integral part of my life. As a Teacher and a Mom I am an avid reader of many genres of books. I am sharing my passion of reading with all of you. Book nuggets are small snippets of information about the stories I have read to all of my children both in the classroom and my daughter at home. I have included my professional opinion about the books. As I read the books to children, important discussions arise. These teachable moments should never be wasted. In order to maximize the learning experience, use my webpage Book Nuggets as a reference.
Welcome to Book Nuggets!
The first question I usually get is “What exactly are book nuggets“? Nuggets are referring to chunks of thoughts — in the case of this website, each nugget is intended to be a well thought-out critique focusing on early childhood books.
I am the sole author of this website and am a state-certified elementary school teacher who holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies (aka early childhood education) and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. I founded this website in part to have a creative outlet, but moreso to provide what I think is a very important public service: the objective exploration of children’s books from a professional and theoretical standpoint. My emphasis is placed on the purpose and effectiveness of book content, and the encouragement of parent-child interactions through the important venue of language and literacy development.
I am so glad you have visited my website and I hope you enjoy your time while you are here!
Warm regards,
Dina Webster, M.Ed.
