Because the primary function of this website is to provide informative reviews of children’s books, my intention in this section is to provide insight on the books from an early childhood educator’s perspective. My thoughts are based out of theories of education and actual experience as a professional state-licensed (PreK – 4) classroom teacher.
In many cases I include in what ways a book is in alignment with specific educator standards, but my aim is to share with caregivers ideas to enhance reading time with their children. So, in this top section I generally begin by providing an overview of the book in my own words, ultimately ending with what I think its purpose is, how it may be beneficial for the cognitive development of a child, and steps caregivers can take to help have the most impact during reading time with that specific book.
